Gwendolyn "Billie" Johnson, 62, died at the Shawnee-Mission Medical Center in Shawnee, Kan., April 15, 1994.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Clyde and Era Lee McGarrity Lucius and was born April 28, 1931, at the Sandy Ridge Community near Blytheville, Ark.
She spent her childhood near Derring, Mo., and attended the Deering School. In 1944 she moved to Dexter where she graduated from Dexter High School in 1949. She later lived at Poplar Bluff and Sedalia, Mo.
Johnson later moved to Shawnee, Kan., 20 years ago. She was a traffic clerk for Southwestern Bell Telephone until she retired. She was of the Baptist faith.
On Aug. 14, 1955 she married Robert G. Johnson at Cape Girardeau. Surviving are her husband, Robert G. Johnson of Shawnee, Kan., and one sister, Helen Patten of Tulsa, Okla.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bobbie Watkins and by one brother, Clyde Lucius Jr.
Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 5 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter Tuesday, April 19, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Kennedy of Dexter officiating. Burial will be at the Dexter Cemetery.
