Gwen L. Everly, 63, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 6, 1941, in Omaha, Neb., daughter of James Harry and Elinor Casebeer Harrod.
Gwen was a Cardiac RN and had worked 25 years at St. Francis Medical Center. She fought cancer the past four years and became unable to work in March 2002.
She had attended Sunday School and church at First Baptist Church in Jackson many years.
Loving survivors include three sons, Conrad Vincent Everly of Louisville, Ky., Michael Lynn Everly of Jackson, Bradley Stephen Everly of Columbia, Mo.; one daughter, Michelle Everly Koch and husband Doug of Jackson; and three grandchildren, Nicholas James and Ryan Lawrence Everly of Louisville, and Brittany Danielle Koch of Jackson.
Also surviving is her mother, Elinor Harrod, formerly of Jackson, Mo., and presently residing at 102 Grand Isle Dr., Round Rock, Texas, 78664; a sister, Marta Harrod Wayman Harris and her husband Jerald Harris Jr. of Round Rock; and Gwen's former husband, Leon Everly of Bethany, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 5, between 4 and 8 p.m., at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Friends may also call after 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
