GUSSIE GOLDIE BOWEN

WARDELL, Mo. Gussie Goldie Bowen, 97, of Wardell, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1990 at Pemiscott County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

She was born March 3, 1893 at Wyatt, Miss., daughter of Charlie and Roseanne Brantley Martin.

On Nov. 16, 1911, she married Joe A. Bowen in Forrest City, Ark. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1948.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. I.E. (Lillian) Beard, Cape Girardeau; two sons, Joe A. Bowen Jr., Forrest Park, Ga.; Phil Bowen, Hayti; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wardell, Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of Amaranth.

Visitation was held Wednesday at the Jimmy Osborne Funeral Home in Wardell. An Order of the Eastern Star memorial service was held at 7 p.m.

Funeral service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wardell with the Revs. Ron Poole, Grif Walker and Buck Morton officiating.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
