G.S. CAMPBELL

LILBOURN -- Funeral service for G.S. "Smith" Campbell of Lilbourn will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn. The Rev. Jeffrey Militti will officiate, with burial in Mounds Park Cemetery near here.

Campbell, 88, died Tuesday, April 2, 1996, at New Madrid Nursing Center in New Madrid.

He was born March 27, 1908, in Van Buren, Ark., son of Lee Roy and Rosa Lee Benson Campbell. He and Dora Magness were married March 4, 1935. She died Dec. 10, 1978. He and Marvelene Scott were married in 1982.

Campbell was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Roger Campbell of Oran; a daughter, Phyliss Armstrong of Memphis, Tenn.; two s sters, Sarah Sherwood of Clarkton, Carlanna Scoyners of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
