Grover "Glenn" Rhodes, 90, of Scott City died Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 26, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Grover Lee and Erma Jones Rhodes. He married Ercie Jane Henderson on Sept. 24, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. Grover "Glenn" Rhodes, 90, of Scott City died Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 26, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Grover Lee and Erma Jones Rhodes. He married Ercie Jane Henderson on Sept. 24, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2009.

Glenn was a quality control inspector for the Marquette Cement Plant in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Scott City. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He also served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include a son, Glenn Rhodes of Scott City; three grandsons, Quincy and Ryan (Pam) Rhodes of Jackson and Steven Rhodes of Cape Girardeau; five great-granddaughters, Alexis, Meagan, Heather, Cierra and Quianna; a grandson, Zachary; and a brother, Bill Rhodes of Washington, Missouri.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
