MARBLE HILL -- Grace Ward, 88, of Marble Hill, died Friday, Feb. 14, at her home. She was born at Greenville, Mo., July 17, 1903, daughter of Edward and Ada Croney Carlton. She married Leonard H. Ward on April 20, 1918. He preceded her in death July 14, 1974...

MARBLE HILL -- Grace Ward, 88, of Marble Hill, died Friday, Feb. 14, at her home.

She was born at Greenville, Mo., July 17, 1903, daughter of Edward and Ada Croney Carlton.

She married Leonard H. Ward on April 20, 1918. He preceded her in death July 14, 1974.

She is survived two sons, Carl Ward of Advance, and Richard Ward of House Springs; seven daughters, Irene Batton of Meadville, Mo., Maxine Leach of O'Fallon, Ill., Betty Tucker of Overland, Mo., Phoebe Crader of St. Charles, Carolyn Shell of Delta, Catheryne Fowler and Sibyl Nanney, both of Marble Hill; a niece, Clara Fox, of Patterson,; a sister, Hazel Copeland of Arnold, 32 grandchildren, 44 great great grandchildren and nine 9 great great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and one great grandchild.

She was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church at Silva.

Friends may call today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 9 a.m.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Silva, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Bounds Creek Cemetery.
