SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Grace F. Sauer, 96, of Scott City died Wednesday, July 11, 2001.
She was born Jan. 23, 1905, at Morley, Mo., daughter of William P. and Nancy Misplay Lee Sr. The family moved to Chaffee, Mo., in 1906. She was one of eight children. She married Charles I. Sauer, who preceded her in death.
Sauer was the oldest member of Memorial Wesleyan Church in Scott City, and had been a Sunday School teacher.
She was a past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star, member of St. Mark's Chapter 107 in Cape Girardeau, past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge, and member of Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6407 in Scott City.
Sauer served as a Red Cross nurse's aide during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria L. Miller of Scott City; a grandson, Charles J. Hicks of Holts Summit, Mo.; two great-grandsons; a brother, W.P. Lee Jr. of Chaffee; two sisters, Pauline Griffith of Loganville, Ga., and Elizabeth Rains of Sikeston, Mo.
Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. Officiants will be the Rev. Joe Hudson and Mark Fisher. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
