Knight, 71, died Sunday, April 19, 1998.

He was born Dec. 20, 1926, at Bernie, son of George and Edith Baker Knight. He and Ruth Schaffert were married July 17, 1948.

Knight served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, and in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Craig and Scott Knight of New Jersey; his mother, Edith Hastings of Ballwin; a sister, Helen Ham of Kelso; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father.
