GORDON W. POWELL

MOREHOUSE -- Gordon W. Powell, 65, of Morehouse, died Monday, March 27, 1995, at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Meridian, Miss., son of John Gordon and Mattie May Wigington Powell. He and Lorene Darter were married June 24, 1957, in Stoddard County.

Powell was a retired security guard with SEMO Security Guard in Cape Girardeau. He moved to Morehouse in February from Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gordon Powell Jr. of Morehouse, Lester Powell of Sikeston; stepfather, Artie Montgomery of Allen, Okla., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Michael Collier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
