Gordon Neumeyer
Gordon T. Neumeyer, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 20, 1920, at Cape Girardeau, son of Edwin W. and Emma Aufdenburg Neumeyer. He and Mary E. Shulte Neumeyer were married May 4, 1946, in Jefferson City, Mo.
Neumeyer was employed as a purchasing agent with Missouri Utilities Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1984. He served four years in the U.S. Army in the European Theater in World War II as a master sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion and its Golden Troopers Drum, Bugle Corps and the Better Service Club of Missouri Utilities Co. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Men's Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Neumeyer of Madison, Wis., Tom Neumeyer of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jeannette A. Zinkgraf of St. Louis; a brother, Wilber W. Neumeyer of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher will officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
