Gordon Philip Mueller, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at the Lutheran Home.

He was born July 21, 1933, in Wheatfield, N.Y., the son of Paul and Edna Mueller. After primary and high school in New York, he attended Concordia Lutheran University in River Forest, Ill., and graduated in 1955. He and Lida Landgraf were married in Cape Girardeau in 1957. He served the Lutheran church for 40 years as a teacher, musician and administrator at congregations in Cape Girardeau, McCook, Neb., and St. Louis.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jeffrey Mueller of Muskogee, Okla., and Thomas (Pam) Mueller of Houston; four grandchildren; Bryan, Paul, Seth and Alyssa and one great-grandson, Colby. Five sisters also survive.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel and at 10 a.m. Tuesday to time of service at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The celebratory service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating.

Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran School's Building Fund, the Lutheran Home or Lutheran Family and Childrens' Service. Our grateful thanks to the awesome staff members of the Lutheran Home for their loving care.
