CLEVER, Mo. -- Glynn Dale James, 62, of Clever died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Friday, Feb. 26, 1954, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, to Bennie Franklin and Neva Jewell Ray James.
He and Sheila Jean Vanpool James were married Oct. 20, 1972, at Sikeston, Missouri.
Glynn worked as a lineman for the former Missouri Utilities and retired from the Sikeston Power Plant as a journeyman mechanic with IBEW Local Union 701.
Family was his first priority. He enjoyed raising cattle and horses, along with hunting and fishing.
He moved to Clever in 2007 from Bloomfield, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila J. James of Clever; son, Chadd James (Tamara Bullard) of Jackson; daughter, Holly James (Chris) Newell of Cape Girardeau; mother, Neva Jewell James of Phoenix; brothers, Bennie D. (Cheryl) James of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Travis D. (Judy) James of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; and grandchildren, Sydney, Logan, Luke and Alex Newell and Blake and Shane Bullard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop Bennie Franklin James of The Church of God of Prophecy.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Terry Richardson officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
