Gloria Faye Wilkey Mueller, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born July 26, 1935, in Bell City, Mo., to Harold and Irene Brown Wilkey. She and Robert Carl Mueller were married Sept. 16, 1961.
Gloria was a graduate of Dexter High School where she was a member of National Honor Society. "In sunshine or rain she is the same."
She worked for Continental Can Co. in St. Louis as a stenographer. That is where she met her husband who was plant manager in July 1956. She had a passion for NBA basketball, photography and her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Eric (Julie) Mueller of St. Louis and David (Lyn/Emmette) Mueller of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Adilyn, Grayson, Deven and Andrew Mueller, and Lea Wheeler; five siblings, Connie Hutchcraft, Joyce Link, Janet Cowley, Harold (Butch) Wilkey and Ken Wilkey.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Carl Mueller.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.
