Gloria L. Jenkins, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at her home as the result of a house fire.
She was born July 19, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Fred and Annie Reynolds Jenkins.
She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church, where she served as a stewardess and a member of the missionary board. She was a 1953 graduate of John S. Cobb High School and was employed by Southeast Missouri State University and Tastee Donuts for many years.
Survivors include her mother; three daughters, Carol Mays and Patricia Jones, both of Cape Girdeau, and Tina Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Tim, David and Gregory Jenkins, all of Cape Girdeau; two sisters, Charlotte Wade and Peggy Primm, both of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Harold, Robert and Frank Jenkins, all of Cape Girardeau, and Rudolph Jenkins of Cleveland, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the start of the funeral at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church. The Rev. David Allen Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
