ORAN, Mo. -- Glonda L. "Curly" Johnson, 79, of Oran, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Glonda was born Dec. 7, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Roscoe Henderson and Aline Smith Langston. She married Ernest E. Johnson Jan. 31, 1947. He died Oct. 3, 1979.
While living in Cape Girardeau Glonda was a homemaker and member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Keith and Alice Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Bruce Kent and Marilyn Johnson of Arnold, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Sue and William Klipfel of Oran; a sister, Gertrude Jenkins of Benton, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Amy Beth Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Alisha and Candice Johnson of Arnold, Jason Klipfel of Alexandria, Minn., Laramie Anne Klipfel of Crestwood, Mo., Matt and Danielle Klipfel of Oran.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Raymond and Gerald Langston; and a sister, Virginia Dodson.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
