PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Glennon J. Buerck Sr., 77, of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 9, 1932, at Menfro, Mo., son of Rudolph and Bertha Baer Buerck Sr. He and Nelda Buchheit were married Oct. 20, 1956, at Apple Creek, Mo...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Glennon J. Buerck Sr., 77, of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 9, 1932, at Menfro, Mo., son of Rudolph and Bertha Baer Buerck Sr. He and Nelda Buchheit were married Oct. 20, 1956, at Apple Creek, Mo.

Buerck was a self-employed barber. He attended Moler Barber College. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, Mo., and a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Scott Buerck of Patton, Mo., Glennon and Bill Buerck, both of Perryville; two daughters, Tina Buerck of Converse, Texas, and Teresina Francis of Festus, Mo.; five brothers, Eugene and Jerry Buerck, both of Festus, and Thomas, Roger and Robert Buerck, all of Perryville; three sisters, Bernetta Buchheit of Washington, Ind., Birdella Schnurbusch of St. Louis and Stella Prevallet of Perryville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. A private burial will follow.

Memorials can be made to a charity of choice, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
