Glenn Eugene Stovall, 72, of Whitewater passed away peacefully Friday, March 22, 2013, at the home of a daughter in Barnhart, Mo. Glenn Eugene Stovall, 72, of Whitewater passed away peacefully Friday, March 22, 2013, at the home of a daughter in Barnhart, Mo.

He was born June 13, 1940, in Granite City, Ill., to Lender and Thelma Greenlee Stovall.

He and Carolyn Davis were married Oct. 19, 1963. They had been married 30 years when she passed away June 9, 1994.

Glenn attended Delta High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.

He entered the police academy in 1963. He was appointed to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police on Aug. 26, 1963. He served nearly 26 years on the force, retiring in 1989.

Glenn was a dedicated and much loved husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Rhonda (Bill) Vassalli of Barnhart, Cheryl (Kevin) Fieselman of Fenton, Mo., and Bobbie Weatherford of Louisiana, Mo.; nine grandchildren whom he adored, Brian (Corrie), Andrea (Vince), Tony, Justin, Ashley, Danielle, Patrick, Riley and Macey; five great-grandchildren, Landon, Brianna, Anthony, Kylee and Chloe; and five siblings, Betty, Della, Jerry, Mary and Earl.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kay.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. J.D. Smith and Joe Smith officiating.
