SCOTT CITY -- Funeral for Glenn Bennett Keesee of Scott City will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Keesee, 79, died Sunday, May 16, 1999, in Pulaski County, Ill.

He was born April 25, 1920, at Grays Point, son of George William and Ambie Selena Bennett Keesee. He first married Helen May McCormick July 12, 1941, in Scott City. She died June 12, 1976. He and Betty Francis Menz were married Nov. 21, 1978, in Scott City.

Keesee retired in 1979 as head deckhand with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Keesee of Kelso; two daughters, Glenda Walker of St. Louis, Jeannie Enderle of Monroe, N.C.; two stepsons, Rodney Benson of Kelso, Stacey Benson of Scott City; two stepdaughters, Connie Workman of Scott City, and Debbie Swafford of Bernie.

Also surviving are two sisters, Elva Habum and Naomi Miller of Scott City; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
