Glenn D. Fulkerson, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 7, 1916, at Parma, Mo., son of James and Beulah Robertson Fulkerson. He and Zulema Harrington were married Aug. 28, 1942, at Charleston, Mo., and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2005...

Glenn D. Fulkerson, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 7, 1916, at Parma, Mo., son of James and Beulah Robertson Fulkerson. He and Zulema Harrington were married Aug. 28, 1942, at Charleston, Mo., and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2005.

Fulkerson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired as an equipment specialist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, working on the Nike Zeus Missile Project and on procurement, testing and maintenance of heavy equipment. Fulkerson was a member of the Wally Byrum Caravan Club and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Glenn M. Fulkerson of Kewadin, Mich.; three sisters, Alma Lewis, Beulah Eaton and Dorothy Gillespie, all of Bloomfield, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo., from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Rainey Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Susan Marner-Sides and Rev. Scott Moon will officiate, with burial in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
