Glenn Eldon "Cotton" McLain, 66, Cape Girardeau Route 1, died Friday, March 6, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born April 21, 1925, at Oriole, son of Roy W. and Laura Koeppel McLain. He and Dorothy M. Kassel were married June 15, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.
McLain had worked at Landgraf Lumber Co., for Burton Gerhardt at Cape Ready Mix, and worked 32 yeas at Marquette Cement Co., retiring in 1987.
He was a member and former elder at Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church, member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Local 164 United Cement Lime and Gypsum Workers.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, George and Randall McLain of Cape Girardeau, David McLain of St. Louis; a daughter, Patricia Menz of Jefferson City; six brothers, Richard McLain of Las Vegas, Nev., Roy McLain of St. Louis, Fred and Jesse McLain of Jackson, James McLain of Wood River, Ill., John McLain of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Ruth Burchyett of Cape Girardeau, Marie Hampton and Betty Melvin of Jackson, Norma Shipp of Pine Bluff, Ark., Erma McDowell of Fruitland; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister and grandson.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Trinity Church in Egypt Mills. The Rev. Helmuth Sylvester will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 9 a.m. to noon.
