Glenda Tankersley

Glenda Fay Tankersley, daughter of the late Robert and Valera Carter Moore, was born May 14, 1948, in Cape Girardeau and departed her life Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 75.

She was raised in Chaffee, Missouri, where she graduated from Chaffee High School in 1966. She loved to dance, go to the VFW and spend time with her grandchildren.

On June 24, 1967, she married Donald Casto. He preceded her in death April 6, 1976. On May 1, 1979, she married Gary Tankersley, and he preceded her in death Dec. 22, 2014.

She is survived by two sons, Tim (Jeannine) Tankersley of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Andy (Alicia) Tankersley of Houston; sister, Brenda Hepler of Detroit; five grandchildren, Issac Tankersley, Serena Tankersley, Rachel Tankersley, Sarah Tankersley and Leah Tankersley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Apart from her parents and husbands, Glenda was preceded in death by one sister, Patrica Moore.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Theresa Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
