NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Glen Ramsey, 87, of New Madrid, Mo., died Monday, June 14, 2004, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1917, in Advance, Mo., son of Jasper and Irene Lape Ramsey. He and Della Street were married Nov. 5, 1939, at Risco, Mo.
Ramsey was a retired farmer and a member of Jay Wye Church of God.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Ramsey of Jackson, Wally Ramsey of Marston, Mo.; four daughters, Glenda Evans of Campbell, Mo., Carolyn Hatter of Nellysford, Va., Lawanda Lalk and Sharon Henry of New Madrid; two brothers, Jasper Ramsey Jr. of Portageville, Mo., Gary Ramsey of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Lovida Eastwood of Qulin, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, a great-granddaughter and a brother.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
