Glen Proctor

Glen Orville Proctor, 82, of Benton, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born May 15, 1921, at Ancell, Mo., son of Roy Sterling and Maude Lula Nanny Proctor. He and Marguriete Eli-zabeth Burns were married Jan. 31, 1947, at Benton.

Proctor was owner and operator of Glen Proctor Trucking at Benton for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII. He was stationed in North Africa and Sicily, Italy, and fought in the Battle of Anzio. He was a member of the Benton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Linda Tamez of Benton; one sister, Mildred Cox of Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at the chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Kargn Walker will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
