POCAHONTAS, Mo. -- Glen Willis Ford, 84, of Pocahontas died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 24, 1918, at Whitewater, Mo., son of Ernest and Mary Summers Ford. He and Rosemary Goodman were married Nov. 24, 1942, in Jackson, Mo.
Glen grew up in Whitewater. He worked at Central Foods more than 35 years, owned and operated Fruitland Packing five years, and had a cattle and hog farm near McClure, Ill., 10 years. After he retired he was night watchman at SEMO Stone Co. 15 years.
He was a former deacon, charter member and Sunday School superintendent at Lynwood Baptist Church. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, the Rev. Donny Ford and Wayne Allan Ford of Jackson; three brothers, Bill Ford of Cape Girardeau, George Ford of Longtown, Mo., Jim Ford of Oak Ridge, Mo.; a sister, Maxine Mansker of Santa Rosa, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathryn Burton in 1999; and three brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery at Whitewater.
