GLADYS SCHLICHTING

Funeral service for Gladys Marie Schlichting, 2825 Bloomfield, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Doyle Randol will officiate, with burial in Lindsey Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Schlichting, 86, died Monday, April 14, 1997, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 12, 1910, in McClure, Ill., daughter of William Clinton and Flora Elizabeth Verble Burchyett. She and Walter Schlichting were married Nov. 10, 1928, in Murphysboro, Ill. He died Feb. 25, 1996.

Schlichting worked at International Shoe Co. 14 years. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Fish of Chaffee; a brother, Lester Burchyett of McClure; two sisters, Hazel Gearing of McClure, Eliza Vancil of Sturdivant, Wis.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
