PERRYVILLE -- Gladys Margaret Romann, 87, of Perryville died Oct. 22, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 11, 1912, at Claryville, daughter of Elmo J. and Sophia Esselman Elder. She and John Edgar Romann Sr. were married Feb. 14, 1942. He died July 27, 1972.
Romann was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy and Regina Romann of Perryville, Mary Corse of St. Louis; a son, John Edgar Romann Jr. of Mukilteo, Wash.; a sister, Mary Ann Grott of Sedalia; a brother, Linus Elder of Red Bud, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three infant children, three brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30-9:40 a.m. The wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Rich Lause will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Ill.
