Gladys Mitchell, 80, of St. Peters, Mo., formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Charlevoix Nursing Home in St. Charles.
She was born Dec. 28, 1922 at Olive Branch, daughter to the late Amel and Ruby Pettit.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Duke of St. Peters, Mo. and Bernice Parsons of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Donald Pettit of New Jersey and Harold Pettit of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Mary Farris of Cairo, Ill., and Martha Enyart of Granite City, Ill.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Mitchell.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the funeral Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Portell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery in rural Olive Branch.
