EAST PRAIRIE -- Gladys Mae Cowser Coffer, 81, of East Prairie, died Saturday, May 7, 1994, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Feb. 15, 1913, at Anniston, daughter of Charles and Florence Smith Cowser. She married Bishop Coffer, Feb. 2, 1931. He died Aug. 10, 1978...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Gladys Mae Cowser Coffer, 81, of East Prairie, died Saturday, May 7, 1994, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Feb. 15, 1913, at Anniston, daughter of Charles and Florence Smith Cowser.

She married Bishop Coffer, Feb. 2, 1931. He died Aug. 10, 1978.

Coffer was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include two sons, G.W. Coffer of Charleston, Ray Coffer of Jackson, Tenn.; a daughter, Louise Powers of East Prairie; three sisters, Elaine Epperson of San Antonio, Texas, Jean Collins of Tullahoma, Tenn., Jane DuBoise of Waterloo, S.C.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. George White and Bro. Ted Wimberley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.
