GLADYS M. STATLER

PERRYVILLE -- Gladys M. Statler, 85, of Perryville died Thursday, Dec. 1, 1994, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

She was born Feb. 23, 1909, at Cranes Island, Ill., the daughter of Guy and Stella Griffith Leasch.

She married Joe Rankin, who died April 21, 1943. She also married Roy Statler, who died Oct. 30, 1987.

She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish in Perryville.

Survivors are one son, James E. "Sonny" Rankin, Perryville; one sister, Lucille Leasch; six half brothers, Arthur and Herbert Knott, both of Perryville, Alphonse Knott, Jackson, Chester Leasch, St. Louis, Todd Leasch, Minnesota, and Ivan Leasch, Delta; four half sisters, Annie Scheerer, St. Joseph, Agnes Meinz, Cape Girardeau, JoAnn Truman, Tahlequah, Okla., and Drucille Lindgren, Georgetown, Fla.; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and one half brother.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville. A parish wake will be held at 7 tonight. Friends also may call from 6:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Jerry Kelly. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery in Perryville.
