EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Gladys Earlene Hartline, 98, of East Cape Girardeau and formerly of Elco, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 20, 1903, at Delta, Ill., daughter of John and Sarah Bass Gearing.
Hartline was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elco and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Jonesboro, Ill.
She was a retired court clerk.
She was married to Loretto Maurine "Bud" Hartline, who died April 25, 1994.
Hartline made her home with her cousin Virginia Kaufman in Tamms, Ill., before moving to the Lutheran Home in 1996.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister, a half sister, a brother and a sister.
Survivors include a half sister, Virginia Reeves in Peoria, Ill.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in rural Dongola, Ill.
