JONESBORO, Ill. -- Gladys Halterman, 88, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1992, at the City Care Center in Anna.

She was born June 20, 1904, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Clarence and Jenny Williford Walker. On June 11, 1924, she married Carl Halterman, who preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1989.

She was a school teacher, bookkeeper and secretary for many years in Chicago and Anna. She also was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Parks of Anna, Edith Hay of Marion and Mabel Ussery of Middletown, Ind.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m Wednesday. The Rev. Carol Hooe will officiate, and burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
