Gladys Aileen Frazier, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 30, 2011, surrounded by her family at home. She was born March 31, 1927, in Leopold, Mo., to Charles and Mary Caroline "Carrie" Gloth Hahn. She and Eugene Frazier Sr. were married Dec. 27, 1944, at Fort Riley, Kan., and they had a 55-year union with four children. He died April 4, 1999. They were the original "American Pickers" with a great passion for the old stuff...

Gladys Aileen Frazier, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 30, 2011, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born March 31, 1927, in Leopold, Mo., to Charles and Mary Caroline "Carrie" Gloth Hahn.

She and Eugene Frazier Sr. were married Dec. 27, 1944, at Fort Riley, Kan., and they had a 55-year union with four children. He died April 4, 1999. They were the original "American Pickers" with a great passion for the old stuff.

After a short time working for the old Florsheim Shoe Co. and Superior Electric Co., Mrs. Frazier spent most of her adult life as a devoted mom and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with all her family. She was proud of them and loved them very much.

She was a longtime member of Red Star Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and worked for many years in the nursery. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, attending games or watching and cheering her team to win.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene (Mary Alice) Frazier Jr., Stephen Dennis (Jane Bernadette) Frazier, both of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sharon Jean (Doug) Woodard of Cape Girardeau and Connie Jo (Aaron) Wilson of Burfordville, Mo.; a brother, Lester Hahn of San Bernardino, Calif.; a sister, Normal Jean Tackett of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren Lisa June (Ben) Vance, Matthew Colin Woodard, Eugene "Pete" (Brandelin) Frazier III, Adam DeWitt Wilson, Christine Marie Frazier and Scott Cameron Myers; and great-grandchildren, Burgandy Rose Beltran, Miles Hunter Frazier, Evelin Lee Frazier and Ethan Christopher Gittemeir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rick Crump officiating.

Burial will be at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo., with Wayne Moore officiating at the graveside service.

Memorial contributions may be given to Red Star Baptist Church.
