HARLINGEN, Texas -- Virginia Sue "Ginny" Wrape Johnston passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, in Harlingen at the age of 58.

She was born Jan. 17, 1961, in St. Louis to George and Betty Wrape. Ginny was the youngest of their five children, and her parents preceded her in death.

Ginny grew up in Cape Girardeau, where she graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1979. She moved to Texas in 1981 and eventually to Denver and back to Texas.

She is survived by her siblings, Skip (Colette) Wrape of Cape Girardeau, Mary Beth (Steve) Denton of Harlingen, Trudy Brandt of Cape Girardeau and Kitty (Glenn) Lacy of Adamsville, Tennessee. Ginny is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she cherished and spoiled.

She will always be remembered for her kind and giving heart, and the laughter shared with family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 4:30 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1919 Ritter Drive, Cape Girardeau, with a memorial Mass to follow at 5 p.m.
