BIEHLE -- Gilbert William Emde, 84, of Biehle, died Saturday, July 16, 1994, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 20, 1909, at Lixville, son of George and Matilda Yamnitz Emde.
He married Betty Jean Cotner, Nov. 12, 1947, at Pocahontas, Ark. She died Feb. 11, 1973.
Emde was a firefighter for the city of Jackson for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and the American Legion Post 4282 in Perryville.
Emde served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Larry G. Emde of Seminole, Fla.; two daughters, Judith A. Taylor of St. Louis, Donna K. Conway of Cape Girardeau; a brother, William Emde of Sedgewickville; two sisters, Nora Valleroy of Perryville, Martha White of Jackson; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will follow.
