Gilbert P. Schattauer, 78, of Pocahontas, died Saturday, July 3, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 23, 1920 in Pocahontas, son of Henry C. and Lucy P. Wallmann Schattauer. He and Helen L. Bruhl were married June 8, 1947. She preceded him in death June 16, 1998.
Schattauer was a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, where he was baptized Nov. 7, 1920. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He owned and operated Pocahontas Radio and Television Repair until 1975.
Survivors include a brother in law, Dallas Bruhl of Pocahontas; a first cousin, Lloyd Schattauer of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Kiehl will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
