Gertrude Willett, 96, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1991, at Ratliff Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 23, 1895, in Wayne County, daughter of Enoch R. and Adaline Perkins Sturgeon. She married R.C. Willett in 1946, who died in 1965. Gertrude Willett, 96, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1991, at Ratliff Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 23, 1895, in Wayne County, daughter of Enoch R. and Adaline Perkins Sturgeon. She married R.C. Willett in 1946, who died in 1965.

Willett was a member and past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge 508, First Baptist Church and its Dow Class, and former member of Fort D Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a daughter, Edna Rogers of Cape Girardeau; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Louis Evans in 1984, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. John Owen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today. A Rebekah service will be held at 7.
