Gertrude E. Mirly, 99, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Shawneetown, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Shawneetown, daughter of Adolph and Pauline Ladreiter Rudert. She and Alfred B. Mirly were married Aug. 25, 1935. He passed away June 21, 1995...

Gertrude E. Mirly, 99, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Shawneetown, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Shawneetown, daughter of Adolph and Pauline Ladreiter Rudert. She and Alfred B. Mirly were married Aug. 25, 1935. He passed away June 21, 1995.

Gertrude was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was a member of the church's Ladies Aid, St. Paul's College Guild and Lutheran Home Auxiliary. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Loving survivors include a son, Richard (Linda) Mirly of Jackson; two daughters, Catherine Sieving of Nashville, Ill., Janet (Tom) Colyer of Imperial, Mo.; a brother, Raymond Rudert of Perryville, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Mildred Dost of Shawneetown; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown.

The funeral will follow, with the Rev. Virgil Kelm officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown or Assisted Living East at Saxony Village, c/o the Lutheran Home.
