DELTA, Mo. -- Gertrude Gentry Carnell, 94, of Slocomb, Ala., died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at the home of a daughter.
She was a native of Arkansas. She married John Herman Carnell, who preceded her in death.
The Carnells lived at Delta and owned and operated Carnell's Cafe 11 years. They moved to Hudson, Fla., and then to Ozark, Ala., in 1974. She attended Logan Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Phillips of Malvern, Ala.; five sons, Herman Carnell Jr. of DeSoto, Mo., James Carnell of Merritt Island, Fla., Joe Carnell of Ozark, Robert Carnell of Pinckard, Ala., Dennis Carnell of Malvern; a sister, Mary Bryant of Michigan; a brother, Tommy Gentry of Michigan; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 4-6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Al Sonanstine officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens.
