GERTRUDE BEEL

LEOPOLD -- Gertrude Mary Beel, 67, of Leopold, died Wednesday, May 8, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 2, 1929, at Laflin, daughter of John Henry and Barbara Rosa Horrell Eftink. She and George Alfred Beel Jr. were married May 14, 1949. He died July 19, 1977.

Beel was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Glennon and its Women's Sodality.

Survivors include three sons, Ray Beel of St. Louis, Roy Beel of Jackson, Kevin Beel of Leopold; two daughters, Glenda Blattel of Jefferson City, Susan Stroder of Kelso; three brothers, Lawrence Eftink of Leopold, Paul Eftink of Hazelwood, Elmer Eftink of Cape Girardeau, and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4:30 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Church. The Rev. Lewis Hejna will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
