JOLIET, Ill. -- Gertie May Stamp, 83, of Joliet, Ill., formerly of Wolf Lake, Ill., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996, at the Juliet Terrace Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1912, at Olive Branch, Ill., daughter of James and Nancy E. Knupp Rhymer.
She married Elmer E. Stamp at Murphysboro, Ill. He died May 19, 1955.
She is survived by three sons, the Rev. Jim Stamp of Wolf Lake, Donald Stamp of Joliet and Ron Stamp of Jonesboro; a daughter, Leona Turner of Bokchito, Okla.; two brothers, Jesse Rhymer and Luther Rhymer, both of Scott City; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Ernest Browning officiating. Interment will be in the Goodbread cemetery near Gorham, Ill.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
