ORAN -- Germain A. Tenkhoff, 83, of Oran died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 16, 1915, at Oran, son of Leo William and Mary Magdalene Metz Tenkhoff.
Tenkhoff owned and operated T and H Grocery Store in Oran 21 years. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311, all in Oran, and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Jere Tenkhoff of Oran; three stepsons, Mark Mosebach of Oran, Charles Mosebach of Benton, Bruce Mosebach of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Glen "Shug" and Bernard Tenkhoff of Oran; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three wives, three brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 3 p.m. Sunday. Parish rosary will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus prayers at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
