The funeral for Geraldine Marie Dormeyer of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate. Entombment will be in Cape County Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Dormeyer, 84, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Feb. 18, 1918, in the state of Washington, daughter of Edward H. and Florence M. Cambron Norvell. She and Fred E. Dormeyer were married Oct. 6, 1939, in St. Louis.
Dormeyer grew up in Cape Girardeau, was a graduate of Central High School, and was a 1939 graduate of DePaul Nursing School in St. Louis.
She had worked at the old St. Francis Hospital, then for Dr. John Crowe and Dr. Don Edwards, retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Phillip Dormeyer of Cape Girardeau, Paul Dormeyer of Wildwood, Mo.; two daughters, Jean Cox of Sikeston, Mo., Gail Ann Miller of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
