SIKESTON, Mo. -- Geraldine Bartley, 79, of Sikeston died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Baxter Springs, Kan., daughter of William Edwin and Virginia Leone Sayler Hiatt. She and Elbridge W. Bartley Jr. were married Aug. 5, 1943, at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Bartley attended State Teacher College in Pittsburg, Kan., and the University of Kansas School of Nursing in Kansas City.
She was a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center, member of First United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, and Kingshighway Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Elbridge Bartley III of Overland Park, Kan., William Bartley of Knoxville, Tenn., John Bartley of O'Fallon, Mo., Robert Bartley of Jackson, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Ault of Charleston, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and four sisters.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sandra Schaller will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Bill Koch will officiate.
