ORAN, Mo. -- Gerald Eugene Whitmore, 79, of Oran died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at his family home.
He was born May 20, 1937, in St. Louis to the late John and Marie Clark Whitmore. He married Sandra Rose on March 16, 1962, and she survives of the home.
Gerald retired from food service with Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Whitmore; three sons, Chuck (Tanya Sells) Holbrook of Jackson, Steven (Debbie) Holbrook of St. Louis and Jarrett (Tiffany) Whitmore of Oran; three daughters, Delores Whitmore of Chaffee, Missouri, Geraldine (Larry) Whitmore of Scott City and Valerie (Clint) Stickel of Oran; a brother, Joseph Whitmore of Jackson; a sister, Delores Coleman of Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
There will be no services at this time.
