SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gerald A. "Jerry" Throgmorton, 64, of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 19, 1940, son of Dr. Howard B. and Bonnie Jackson Throgmorton.
Throgmorton was a 1958 graduate of Sikeston High School, where he was a member of the All-American Football Honor Roll.
He worked at Western Electric 20 years, was manager of Sikeston Country Club many years, and was currently a bail bondsman for Mississippi and Scott counties. He was a member of First Christian Church and Sikeston Elks Lodge, where he founded the Sikeston Elks Scholarship Fund.
Throgmorton served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Weaver of Germantown, Tenn.; a friend, Christine Blagg; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. today. An Elks memorial service will be held at 6.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Allen Shriver officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
