JACKSON -- Gerald "Jerry" Mason, 81, of Jackson, died Thursday, June 1, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 19, 1914, in Bradford, Ark., son of James and Grace Pierce Mason. He and Blanche Burgfeld were married Feb. 23, 1957.
Mason moved to Jackson in 1952 from Arkansas. He was a pipefitter, retiring in 1979 from Local 562 in St. Louis.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Jackson Trailriders Association, Elks 2652 in Jackson, and was a member of the former Wolf and Fox Hunters Association in Cape Girardeau County. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Mason of Jackson; three brothers, Raymond Mason of Fort Worth, Texas, Earl Mason of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Gene Mason of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Carolyn Anderson of Jackson, Miss., and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. O. David Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
