Gerald Lee "Jerry" Dunn, 70, of Jackson, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Egypt Mills, Mo., to Pierce Lee and Hazel E. Rehkopf Dunn. Gerald Lee "Jerry" Dunn, 70, of Jackson, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Egypt Mills, Mo., to Pierce Lee and Hazel E. Rehkopf Dunn.

Jerry graduated from College High School in 1959.

He and Betty L. Benton were married March 16, 1962, at Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Dunn was plant manager for General Sign Co. for 28 years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills, Mo. Jerry was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed and loved them like no other, except the Lord, who was number one to him.

Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Dunn of Jackson; a daughter, Jeri (Cliff) Palmer of Jackson; a son, Darryl (Nicole) Dunn of Millersville; a daughter, Gina Elliott of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Christopher Palmer, Jessica Dunn, Jessica Palmer, Joseph Palmer, Stephen Dunn, Caitlyn Palmer and Dillon Elliott; and one expected great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James F. Dunn.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Parry officiating. Burial will be at Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Egypt Mills. A supper at Fruitland Community Church will follow the interment.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tenn.
