CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Gerald S. "Jerry" Jeffords, 62, of Republic, Mo., died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo.
He was born July 12, 1938, in Charleston, son of Raymond W. and Hattie G. Lee Jeffords. He and Beverly Howell were married Oct. 17, 1958.
Jeffords lived in Charleston most of his life. He was employed at Town and Country Motors in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1990.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenny Jeffords of House Springs, Mo.; three brothers, Ray Jeffords of Salem, Ill., Charles "Bud" Jeffords of St. Charles, Mo., Bill Jeffords of Sikeston, Mo.; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
