TAMMS, Ill. -- Gerald D. Coleman, 78, of Tamms, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born July 20, 1916, in Tamms, son of William David and Blanche Hoover Coleman. Coleman retired as a cook at the veterans hospital in Waukegan, and had also worked at Sears there. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Gerald D. Coleman, 78, of Tamms, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born July 20, 1916, in Tamms, son of William David and Blanche Hoover Coleman.

Coleman retired as a cook at the veterans hospital in Waukegan, and had also worked at Sears there. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include three sisters, Georgia Dunning and Agnes Poser of Tamms, Estella Coleman of Jonesboro, and a brother, Robert Coleman of Dixon.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home here from 5-9 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Hart officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
