Georgia Smith

Georgia L. Smith, 99, of Jackson passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Cedar Hurst Nursing Home in Columbia, Missouri.

Georgia was born July 13, 1923, in Tilsit, daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Mae Allen Birk. She and James Smith were married May 25, 1946, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He preceded her in death Sept. 20, 2003.

Loving survivors include two sons, Gary and David Smith; four grandchildren, Scott Smith, Rick Smith, Brandi Lynn Smith and Robert Smith; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Georgia was preceded in death by three siblings, Joann Grebe, Allen Birk and Katherine Vicent; and a sister-in-law, Marie Birk.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
